When writing new or updated content during a website redesign – a website should not go live until it has been completely and fully optimised. This is particularly important if you are adding new content or rewriting existing pages. Search engines rank individual pages not a website as a whole. These new pages may take a little time to gain search engine trust and links before they start ranking, so try to monitor that progress that each of your new pages are making.

3) Onsite SEO
When you move your website, what will happen to your Meta descriptions, title tags, H1 tags, Meta keywords and so on? Some information may be carried over throughout the redesign process, while other onsite SEO elements are going to need rewriting. Once major changes have been made, it’s important to let it lie for a couple of months or so, this way you can wait and see how the search engines respond.

4) Which Keywords Should I Target?
If you add new content to your site, new keyword research will be required. It is important to avoid targeting the same keywords on multiple pages of your site. It may be that all your keywords need replacing, as the keywords need to be relevant to the new content.
